Forma specialis

Forma specialis (plural formae speciales) is a taxonomic grouping applied within a pathogenic species which defines variants in terms of host range, different formae speciales infect different groups of plants. In particular it is applied to species of plant pahtogenic fungi with specific host range, like Puccinia graminis.
