Forest Park Senior High School is a high school in Woodbridge, Virginia

It is part of Prince William County Public Schools and is located on 15721 Forest Park Drive (Formerly Spriggs Road, name changed during 2005-2006 construction on Spriggs Road.) It is also the home of the first information technology (iT) specialty program in Prince William County. Forest Park Senior High School is also accredited with their Academic Scholastic Team (2003 and 2006 Cardinal District Champions), girls basketball team (the 2005-06 Virginia State Champions), and their Women's Lightweight four rowing team (2005-2006 State Champions). A nation-wide Newsweek survey reported that Forest Park High School is in the top 1200 schools in the country at number 1145 [1]. Also, Forest Park is home to the 2005-2006 Virginia teacher of the year, Carolyn Beever.

Forest Park Senior High School is a center for the iT (Information Technology) Program, along with Battlefield Highschool. All students must apply for the program, bringing in many students around Prince William County. There are three fields that students can enter: Computer Graphics, Networking, or Programming. Each year, iT students are required to take an iT core class. Students can receive a special iT Diploma if they complete Eight iT courses (Four Core). Currently, Chuck Drake is the head of the program.

Forest Park Senior High School is a fully accredited high school based on its performance on the Virginia SOL tests, yet not a School of Excellence. In 2005 86% of students met or exceeded Reading standards and 84% met or exceeded Math Standards.

[edit] Improv Club

Forest Park is also well renowned throughout Prince William County for its Theater Sports team, also known as the Improv Club. Several times throughout the school year (4-5) the members of the club put on an improvised comedy show in the Mini-Theater. During the college Spring Break season, the current Improv team pay homage to the Improv teams of the past with an Alumni show, bringing back several Forest Park graduates. It was originally an offshoot of the Drama Club, founded in 2002.

In 2005-2006, Forest Park's student body was 54% White, 28% Black, 9% Hispanic, 4% Asian, and 3% of other backgrounds. Most of the students that attend Forest Park live in Montclair, Virginia. 16% of the student body were eligible for free or reduced-price lunch during the 2004-2005 school year.
