Forest Hill School is a comprehensive boys school located on Dacres Road, Forest Hill, London in the London Borough of Lewisham. The school has very close ties with the girls secondary school Sydenham School located nearby.

In 2005 the school was given Performing Arts status for its Drama, Dance, Music and Art. The school is split into four different houses, Shackleton, Harvey, Drake and Reynolds. Then it gets complicated, usually each year another year group comes in (Year 7), and the people are split into either the G side (G for German) or the F (F for French). But now there are also two other groups E (E for Extra - who do French) and S (who do French and German - added since 2005). So if a student got put in Drake, Year 7 and randomly got chosen to do German the probability is that he will be in D7G.

The school has begun a major redevelopment project started in July of 2006. The project will take 18 months, during which time many of the classrooms will be replaced by portacabins.

The only part of the school which will remain unchanged is the current art block, which was built recently. The rest of the school will be entirely demolished and rebuilt from the ground up.

In 2006 the school's new £4.5M state-of-the-art sports facility was opened. The facility is open to the public as well as the students during their Lunchtimes etc. The facility features a large air conditioned sports hall with basketball nets, a fitness suite, trampolining, three Gyms and indoor cricket. The sports centre opened on top of Gym 3, but was also expanded towards Bampton Road on the other side of the school.

Is the official name of a group of Large portacabins in Forest Hill School while it's being rebuilt. The main portacabin building consits of 10 Large Classrooms and around 4 Offices on two floors for use for activities such as Maths, English, Geography, History so on. The other building - on one floor - consist of classrooms for lessons such as Drama and Design & Technology. This building holds 4 Classrooms.

The numbers of the rooms are from 1-18, but so not to confuse it with the main old building they start with a V - standing for village. So if I wanted to go to the drama classroom which is the 18th room I would go to V18. Or if I wanted to go to a PSE - Social Studies and Citizenship - room I would visit V5 so on. The schools headmaster is Peter Walsh.

The school is part of the Hillsyde Sixth Form Centre which is a joint sixth form with Sydenham School and Sedgehill School. Forest Hill School is also the home to the Lewisham City Learning Centre (or CLC), but after the redevelopment it will be moved to another school in the London Borough of Lewisham.
