[edit] Trivia

  • The birds can be heard and seen (very briefly) on a telephone line in the beginning of Cars during the "Life is a Highway" sequence. They are the only living animals depicted in the movie.
  • Director Ralph Eggleston provided the voice of the large bird.
  • According to Pixar's website, the first four birds actually have names and individual characteristics. From left to right they are: Chipper, Bully, Snob and Neurotic. When looked at closely, it can be seen that they act out their personalities.
  • Included with the theatrical and video/DVD release of Monsters, Inc.
  • For the Birds was the last production to be completed by Pixar at Point Richmond, before they moved to a new site in Emeryville, California.
  • Apparently, Squeeky toys were used for the small birds chirps and squeals.
  • One of the boats in Finding Nemo is called For the birds which is a reference to this.
