[edit] Synopsis

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

In this episode, the motel room speech that Jack Tanner had given in "The Dark Horse" is now being used in a major ad campaign. Tanner's new slogan is "For real" and emphasis is being placed on the fact that he is a "real" candidate. The ad campaign is a huge success and puts Tanner ahead of Al Gore in the polls.

Meanwhile, Andrea Spinelli, the depressed woman from the previous episode, comes to T.J. requesting a job. Andrea had left the house after a disagreement with her family, and T.J. puts her to work driving the press bus.

Tanner and his staff hold a fundraiserin Nashville, Tennessee, in which musician Waylon Jennings performs. Unfortunately for Tanner, Andrea screws up and the press bus does not make it to the fundraiser. The fundraiser comes to an abrupt end when a man brandishing a knife is caught and stopped before he can cause any harm, and Tanner is rushed off-stage. Tanner staffer Stringer Kincaid comments that Jack is now in the big time because he now qualifies for protection by Secret Service.
