For One Night is a film is based on the true story of Gerica McCrary, who made headlines in 2002 by getting Taylor County High School in her hometown of Butler, Georgia, to integrate the prom after 31 years of segregation. It stars Raven-Symoné as Briana McCalister. The film also features Aisha Tyler and Mary Beth Kratky. In the movie the story was slightly changed. Filming for this movie began in the Summer of 2005.
In an interview with the film director, Symone had to gain some weight for the lead role. The soundtrack features Raven's new song 'Gravity'. Also this causes a lot of problmes to the neighborhood and the school Brianna attends. Brianna doesn't understand what is going on, why people are acting so weird and what is so wrong about having one prom with blacks and whites together. A few nights before the prom, Brianna gets a threatening phone call and the next morning she discovers that the prom decorations have been destroyed. But in the end she finds herself going to the prom with all her classmates and the man of her dreams.
