The Forţele Aeriene Regale ale României (Royal Romanian Air Force) or simply Forţele Aeriene Române (Romanian Air Force) are the Air Arm of Royal Romanian forces in WWII. such unit provided support to land forces, realizing recon missions, realized raids between other missions in combat fronts.
these unit was covered to Axis Powers forces alongside of Luftwaffe during your advances in Ukraine and Crimea, until Stalingrad operations amongst why the Souther German A.F. Command was installed in proper Bucharest area.the sign of Romanian A.F. was one Cross in fuselage and upper and lower wings amongs the national colours in tail, amongst use of Yellow color in engine cover and vertical band in fuselage; later changed at tricolor (red-yellow-purple)roundels in fuselage and wings amongst tricolor band in vertical tail stabilizer.
This unit was provided for Germany and Italy with own and foreing design aircrafts amongst theirs captured examples at enemy in combat also.Romanian Air Force sustain some figthings against Magyar Királyi Honvéd Légierö (Hungarian Air Force) during hugarian anexation of Transilvania area.
The Romanian Air Forces also poses task of Air defense of Ploesti Oil Instalations and Bucarest against Allied Strikes, and protect Axis vessels convoys in Black Sea. such units figthing against USAAF and RAF during your raids against Romanian soil.local air force used with defensive pourposes PZL P.24F,Gloster Gladiator,Heinkel He 112,Messerschmitt 109 E and G types,Messerschmitt 110 (for nigth defense),Focke-Wulf Fw 190A,IAR 80A,occasionally Bloch MB.151,Bloch MB.152,Dewoitine D.520 trainers used too,amongst other types of interceptors along Luftwaffe units in area.
When the country was invaded by Soviet Forces, the King Mihai I (Michael) ordered to Romanian forces acted against Axis forces, for all the Air Force was aligned with Soviet Voenno-vozdushniye Sily against German and Hungarian forces in Transilvania and Slovakia areas, others continuing with Axis inside of Luftwaffe volunteer units also.
