Football Federation Tasmania
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Football Federation Tasmania is the governing body for football (soccer) in the Australian state of Tasmania. The federation oversees leagues in Northern and Southern Tasmania, Tasmanian representative teams, and development of the sport in the state. The federation was formerly known as Soccer Tasmania, changing its name in March 2006.
Football Federation Tasmania is based at King George V ("KGV" or "KG5") Soccer Park in Glenorchy, Southern Tasmania, which hosts most major matches. This is not to be confused with KGV Australian Rules Football Ground which is next door.
Football Federation Tasmania is a member of the Football Federation Australia, which is in turn a member of the world governing body FIFA.
The FFT governs the state's domestic leagues including its two major leagues, the Northern Premier League (Tasmania), and the Southern Premier League (Tasmania). The FFT also organises and runs all of the Tasmanian Football Cups.
The FFT was also responsible for the organisation and administration of the Tasmanian State League.
