[edit] Discrepancy in terminology between text and diagram

The text mentions the posterior and anterior fontanelles, but the diagram indicates an occipital and frontal fontanelle. And it spells it "fontanel". I'm guessing the diagram is copied and pasted from some old text book and the terminology has changed since it was published.

Perhaps the diagram could be photoshopped to make the terminology consistent throughout the article? --DominicSayers 09:14, 3 Mar 2005 (UTC)

The diagram is from Gray's Anatomy, and a more august source you really couldn't find - but these are fairly old plates, and terminology has indeed changed since. If there are multiple spellings then the article should detail both; equally if things have new names then the article should reflect old and new. That way someone coming looking with the old name in mind can learn the new one. We can't realistically photoshop the gray's images, as there are over a thousand of them. -- John Fader 11:43, 3 Mar 2005 (UTC)

[edit] need to reorganize this

anterior and posterior fontanelle should come before the minor 2.
