Talk:Fon people
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I'm greatly impressed with the fact that you used 'house' to refer to the Fon people's home instead of the common word 'hut'; I've always regarded the common usuage as racist. On the other hand I'd like to see the constant reference to the Guinea Coast as the 'Slave Coast' cease. Calling it the 'Slave Coast' gives the impression that the natives of the region were born slaves when the truth is they only became slaves after they were captured and shipped to the Americas. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.49.179.253 (talk • contribs) 11:36, 18 August 2006.
