This image faithfully reproduces follicle maturation with great detail. I've done a cursory search for a free-use image of comparable quality (or even of acceptable quality), but there is simply none available. This is not a cartoon or conceptual drawing, but rather actual histological presentation, with accuracy down to the cell. With the technical nature of the image in mind, I believe that a free-license recreation of acceptable quality is impossible (granted, this is a fairly strong assertion). --D.
