Focal seizure

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Focal seizure is a term used to describe abnormal electric activity only in a localized part of the brain.

Furthermore, it can be separated into two categories. Simple, where awareness is not affected, and complex, where behavior, memory and awareness are modified before, during and right after the episode. This does not mean the person will lose consciousness. A complex seizure may manifest as a blank stare or talking nonsense and then having no memory of doing so.
