[edit] Regarding Your Edit to the Sandbox

Your Wiki Defcon template is positively seizure-inducing. Your lucky I don't have epilepsy. However, I think it is a good way to get somebody's attention for a priority 1 RED ALERT. MichaelLinnear 01:58, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Wdefcon

Hey, I really like the design of your defcon (thanks!) but is there any way to get it to show what the user wrote and also the level that the original defcon is? Thanks!--Daniel()Folsom T|C|U 20:58, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

Oh that's great - although I must say waht I meant was some of the alternatives the the Wdefcon update automatically with the Wdefcon, or so it seems. But either way I can def. manage this for now. Thanks!--Daniel()Folsom T|C|U 21:53, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
I believe these are:
Vandalism

Significantly elevated levels of vandalism from shared IPs and experimenting users.

[edit]
Seems to be speeding up --Daniel()Folsom T
2
WikiDefcon 2

Multi-page vandalism of similar nature by a number of sockpuppets (page move vandalism or other vandalbot attack)

Many more users are needed on RC, AIV backlogged
Just a note, they don't update themselves that quickly on the discussion page of Wdefcon, but for the second one, this page here does (and any other userpages)--Daniel()Folsom T|C|U 22:02, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
And by the way - I just made that 3 update (it was 4, that's how i know) - but again, don't trouble yourself over this- i can def. manage how it is now.--Daniel()Folsom T|C|U 22:03, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
Haha, well it's true! Haha, anyways, a few things: 1) That's awesome that you got the auto update thing going - although you might want to have it go faster that 1 day - given that the thing is changed sometimes every minute. 2)You might also consider having a "edit" thing like the normal one does, just so people that use it could do everything someone that uses the normal one can - again though your doing a great job!--Daniel()Folsom T|C|U 00:02, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Help

Hey could you help me out with this userbox - you seem to know a lot about templates, and frankly I have no clue what I'm doing wrong Template:User_Guilt

  • Right now I'm trying to say if someone enters a parameter, it shows up as a link (with user being it's prefix, for example if I entered Danielfolsom it would produce the equivelent of [[User:Danielfolsom|Danielfolsom]]) but if they don't enter a parameter, it doesn't show up as a link.

This seems to be the only thing so far, but in trying to fix it some weird things have been happening, so I got it down to the most basic version. i'd really appreciate it if you could help me out - but I completely understand if you don't have the time (especially since I'm already burdening you with the Wdefcon). So thanks either way!--Daniel()Folsom T|C|U 17:11, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

a quick note - if you go to the page you'll see two userboxes, one is the actual one, one is a test under <nowiki></nowiki>tags.--Daniel()Folsom T|C|U 17:13, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
Uhh I'm kinda confused:
      • A)wouldn't u need a colon between the user and {{{1}}}?
      • B)Im trying to say if they don't enter anything, then it should just say user's, with no link.
if you can -check out what i have now, while it still doesn't work I think i'm getting closer--Daniel()Folsom T|C|U 19:27, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
And now for some reason the example you posted isn't working ...

[edit] Nice

Awesomeness, I'll try it out. However now things are going to get interesting. You know how there are some templates where for every parameter you have to say Template|a=b|c=d ect. and then there are some where you just do Template|b|d - well for the latter, is there any way to skip b and just put d in (as in Template||d - that's all I can think of, but it doesn't work). Again really appreciate this, --Daniel()Folsom T|C|U 19:54, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

By the way, with a few tweaks the code worked (YAY!)--Daniel()Folsom T|C|U 20:00, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
Uhmm, I'm using that...--Daniel()Folsom T|C|U 20:11, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
btw, ignore the question, I got it allfigured out :-D —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Danielfolsom (talkcontribs) 20:13, 22 January 2007 (UTC).
Crap! Ok, based on how many times I've had to ask you questions today, you officially get a "IGNORE DAN FOR A WEEK" card - but I swear, this is the last one, even if I have to stay off Wikipedia because of it. Ok so it might just be taking a while to load, but for some reason my template NoGod isn't workin when I put it in my userbox section (I placed it above my mcintosh one ... Do you have any idea what's up? --Daniel()Folsom T|C|U 21:01, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
Sounds good (no asking qs to u for a week), but this is about the same issue
      • What was wrong with the template?
      • It's still not showing up for me...

--Daniel()Folsom T|C|U 23:11, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

Yah I found it - thanks, although now the problem is I can't seem to space it out right. I tried putting half the userboxes in one div and floating them right and half in another (each half had it's own userboxtop and uerboxbottom thing) and floating them left -but they're stuck it seems like ... well hey, thanks for all your help - the week starts now.--Daniel()Folsom T|C|U 01:07, 23 January

[edit] Deletion

Is there any reason why your nominating my page for deletion/screwing around with the style? (By the way, I saw the scrolling bar on your WDEFCON, very nice)Daniel()Folsom T|C|U 16:02, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

K, I'm just wondering if there was a point, and as to the change in styles (putting a dif. box around some of the userboxes but not all of them)?Daniel()Folsom T|C|U

[edit] Style of Talk page

Hey Could you help me out in styling my talk page, as of now you can easily see what I want to do, but whenever you hit that plus button it obviously gets screwed up (there's a table I want everything to go in, but the plus obvioulsy sends it out) - any suggestions? Thanks!Daniel()Folsom T|C|U 16:45, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

Oh nice, how'd you do that (and uhh...the table won't be archived - right? (auto-archive thing)Daniel()Folsom T|C|U 16:53, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
Nice, I really appreciate what your doing with my user page. It's def. risen from the crappiness it was at before. Daniel()Folsom T|C|U
OMG THAT IS AWEOMSE (the image map) HOW DID YOU DO THAT!!!!Daniel()Folsom T|C|U

[edit] Edit summaries

From what I can tell, you're using an editing script whose name is "Yay" or "Yay Brains" or something like that. Problem: it's not leaving proper edit summaries, so that instead we get things like "replaced page with YAY" and "created page with YAY BRAINS". These look far too evocative of vandalism.

I would appreciate it if you would fix your script. Thanks. DS 15:06, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
