Flyhistorisk Museum, Sola

Flyhistorisk Museum, Sola (Sola Aviation Museum) is an aviation museum located in Sola, near Stavanger, Norway. The museum was founded in 1984, and is run by local volunteers on an unpaid basis. The museum is currently housed in an old aircraft hangar at the former military seaplane base at the Stavanger Airport, built by the Germans during World War II.

In the hangar, the museum houses the display, as well as a small café (the former bar for one of the fighter squadrons stationed at the airport), in addition to a workshop, where currently a Messerschmitt Bf-109, an Arado Ar 96, a Caproni Ca310 bomber, and parts of a PBY Catalina is under restoration.

The collection of the museum is mainly centered at local history, with remains from several aircraft being on display, as well as smaller displays featuring various Norwegian airlines, such as the now defunct Fjellfly and Braathens S.A.F.E (now merged into SAS). In terms of military history, the museum mainly focus on the Royal Norwegian Airforce, as well as the German Luftwaffe as per World War 2. The museum currently houses one jetfighter of every type used by the RNoAF, as well as a number of trainers, in addition to what is probably the only remaining, or at least most complete Arado Ar96, as well as the airframe of an Arado Ar196 stationed on Blücher when she was sunk in the Oslo fjord in April 1940.
