A Shimmy Disc band that kept on trucking, Fly Ashtray has recorded 10 albums or so of noodley, psych-rock with strange noises and frequent time-changes included. The band has performed regularly in New York City from 1983 to the present (2007).

They recorded two albums with the legendary Kramer of Shimmy Disc and two albums with Dark Beloved Cloud.

Their most recent effort is a self-released disk titled "Pantswind Folder".

Current members: Chris Thomas (co-founder of Rubulad), James Kavoussi, David Abel, and Eric Marc Cohen. Past members include Eric Thomas, John Beekman, Mike Anzalone, and Glenn Luttman.
