Fluky's

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Fluky's is a Chicagoland chain of fast food restaurants known for hot dogs.

[edit] History

Fluky's began in Chicago in 1929 on Maxwell and Halsted streets. Founded by Abe Drexler, this stand is widely acknowledged as the originator of the Chicago-style hot dog. Still owned by the Drexler family, Fluky's maintains locations in the Chicago suburb of Buffalo Grove and in some Wal-Mart stores.

Fluky's no longer has any locations in the city of Chicago. The Fluky's at 6821 N. Western Ave., Chicago, changed its name to U Lucky Dawg on February 14, 2006; that site had been owned by a licensee for the previous eight years.
