[edit] The mound

The line in the opening paragraph: "Though surrounded by commercial and residential development, the mound, believed to be a Native American burial ground, is privately owned so as to be protected from further development." Is there some reference that this is siting? I grew up in the area and my grandmother is on the Flower Mound Foundation Board. I know of no commonly held belief that the Mound was a burial ground, nor any archalogical evidence to support this. I will double check my reference and get back. Until then I have edited the statement to remove this and to site that ownership as a Non-Profit. Wildwose 07:18, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] "Made up primarily of shopping centers"

Come on, this is getting a little silly. No city of nearly 70,000 people is made up primarily of shopping centers. Of course, residential and undeveloped land accounts for most of Flower Mound's area. You might as well say that Flower Mound is made up mostly of schools and churches because there are dozens of them in the city. The article is already balanced with criticisms of growth in Flower Mound. Please remember that we're trying to write a reasonably neutral encyclopedia article, not a polemic against shopping centers and grocery stores. Casey Abell 13:55, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

I'm tired of the edit war, and I won't violate WP:3RR. I've left messages here and on User Talk:Spsummerlin about the inaccuracy of saying that a city of nearly 70,000 is primarily shopping centers. But I won't make any more reverts. I'll leave it to other editors to ensure that the article remains accurate and balanced. Casey Abell 04:49, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
