[edit] Tolls only on the extension?

If the tolls are only being placed on the extension, then why is a booth being built on the 107th eastbound exit, and on the 87th westbound street itself. It appears that was once free to get to and from the Turnpike will now be a charge.

Also, the new road ending at 136th street will end at what avenue? It sounds like it will be west of the HEFT and east of Krome Avenue. Just curious, since it might ease some of the Turnpike traffic in the morning. CodeCarpenter 16:18, 30 January 2007 (UTC)

Well, I found where they are "explaining" this little change. To go an extra 20 blocks, they are gonna add a toll for everyone trying to get to the Turnpike. "Tolls will be added in both directions on west SR 836 between NW 107th Avenue and NW 87th Avenue. Access to and from the SR 836 extension to NW 137th Avenue will be limited to SunPass users only." [1]. But I am not bitter... :( . CodeCarpenter 16:18, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
From looking at Google Maps it appears the only possible place they can put it would be just east of Krome. 136th is way down in south Kendall and runs along the southern border of Kendall-Tamiami airport. Housing in west Kendall has grown nearly to Krome. They should probably just widen Krome or put in a parallel expressway running along Krome. In any case they'd have to go a lot further west to 157th ave, before turning south since a bunch of new housing has sprung up south of Tamiami Trail in the past few years. - Marc Averette 18:16, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
