[edit] Place of Birth

English wikipedia suggests Gassmann was born in Most/Brüx, while German wikipedia suggests it was Brno/Brün. Can anyone with better source material than I have at work suggest which is correct? Gerry Lynch 14:58, 1 June 2006 (UTC)

Joshua Kosman in Grove gives Brüx (now Most). We usually trust Grove unless there is a good reason not to. - Kleinzach 16:26, 1 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Later operas

Gassmann's early operas were written for the Venice carnival. What about his later operas? Where they composed for the court at Vienna, something else in Vienna or for Italian opera houses? This seems an important contextual point to me. Gerry Lynch 14:58, 1 June 2006 (UTC)

I have added locations from the Grove article. - Kleinzach 16:33, 1 June 2006 (UTC)
