Floyd Cooper

Floyd Cooper is a multi-sport player from Burlington, Ontario.

Floyd entered Burlington Central High School in September 1944 and from then until graduation in June 1949 participated in track and field, basketball and football. He was a member of the Hamilton Junior Wildcats in 1949 and part of 1950. The remainder of the latter year and up to and including 1952 Floyd was a member of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, and in 1952 played lacrosse for the Burlington Braves.
Floyd was assistant coach for the McMaster Marauders in 1952-53 and played for the Kitchener-Waterloo Flying Dutchmen of the ORFU in 1953-54.
Floyd took employment in Kitchener-Waterloo in 1955 and it was there that an interest in football officiating began. Floyd returned to the Hamilton area and became a member of the local football officials association. In 1968 Floyd was selected to the Canadian Intercollegiate Athletic Union officiating panel and from 1969-82 was a member of the Canadian Football League officiating panel.
Floyd continues to enjoy golfing, skiing, sailing, fishing, hunting, baseball and badminton.
