Flowers in Formaldehyde is the title of the second EP from Darkwave band Sopor Aeternus & The Ensemble of Shadows. It was released in 2004. Flowers in Formaldehyde was released as a companion to the previous album "La Chambre D'Echo" - Where the dead Birds sing, containing different versions of songs from that album, as well as new material. Of note is the remix of "Do you know my Name?" from Sopor Aeternus' first album, "...Ich töte mich jedesmal aufs Neue, doch ich bin unsterblich, und ich erstehe wieder auf; in einer Vision des Untergangs...". A limited pressing of 2,000 CDs and 700 LPs was initially available.

In 2005, "Flowers in Formaldehyde" was re-released alongside Ehjeh Ascher Ehjeh, "Voyager" - The Jugglers of Jusa and Es reiten die Toten so Schnell... as part of the rarities box set Like a Corpse standing in Desperation. As the EP had been released less than a year earlier, fans were quite disappointed with the EP taking up a full disc of the box set. Apocalyptic Vision later explained that Flowers in Formaldehyde was included in Like a Corpse standing in Desperation because counterfeiters were making imitation CDs so exact that even the serial numbers were forged by hand onto the CDs themselves.
