Florya is a part of Bakırköy district of the greater Istanbul. It is located along Marmara Sea, and borders to the northeast the neighbourhood of Yeşilköy.It is one of the high class and rich area of Istanbul. Florya`s name originally comes from a plant flower called Florya and can be seen in the Bakirkoy district of Istanbul. Also Turkish Third division team Bakirkoyspor play their home games in Senlikkoy Stadium which is located in Florya.

Ataturk , The founder and the first president of Turkey , used to spend time in his Florya Palace for long times by swimming and enjoying the beautiful sandy beach.

Famous Turkish Sports Club Galatasaray SK has the club`s training facilities in Florya , but local area has a huge number of rival Fenerbahce SK fans.

Florya Koleji , Istek Vakfi , Ilke Koleji are some of the private colleges in the area.
