Florilegium

Florilegium (plural Florilegia) is a Latin word for a collection of 'flowers' (excellent excerpts), from the corpus of a considerably larger oeuvre, i.e. an anthology.
The word applies especially to:
- a patristic anthology in Christian literature
- the title of various literary anthologies, e.g. by Johannes Stobaeus
- the title of certain collections of musical compositions, e.g. by Georg Muffat
- a Classical music ensemble
