Gov. Jeb Bush (R-FL) defeated attorney Bill McBride (D) 55% to 45%. In the Democratic primary, McBride upset former U.S. Attorney General Janet Reno. Air Force reserves colonel and state senator Daryl Jones came in third, with McBride defeating Reno by one point.
