State Road 53 is a 20-mile-long north-south route in northern Florida. Its southern terminus is an interchange with Interstate 10 (SR 8) near Lee and Madison; the northern terminus is at the Georgia state boundary near Cherry Lake, Florida. The southernmost six miles of SR 53 is also signed State Road 14 Truck, a rare bannered State Road.
State Road 53 continues northward from the state line as State Route 333; a southbound continuation of SR 53 is Madison County Road 53 and Lafayette County Road 53, with ultimately ends at an intersection with SR 51 north of Mayo, Florida.
Communities served by State Road 53 include Madison and Cherry Lake; County Road 53 spans Chancey, Day, Buckville, and Mayo
