State Road 211 (SR 211) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Florida. It runs from U.S. Highway 17, SR 15 Roosevelt Blvd it proceeds to North via Ortega Blvd until SR 211 leaves Ortega Blvd for Grand Ave then going over the Old Ortega River Bridge becoming San Juan Ave heading west until the intersection of Herschel Street begins SR 128,& continues heading west on San Juan Ave . SR 211 turns north on Herschel Street , due north until SR 211 splits off Herschel Street to go up St John Ave paralleling the St Johns River in Avondale then moving one block up to Riverside Ave in Riverside turning from the the ENE direction to a NNE direction until intersecting U.S. Highway 17, SR 15, SR 228, Post St SR 228 in Jacksonville begin US 17, SR 15, SR 228, concurrency SR 9 (Interstate 95) going into downtown Jacksonville & SR 13 (Acosta Bridge) in Jacksonville end SR 211". Facts About Florida State Road 211 .
- From 1932 to 1950 original route in south jacksonville of U.S. Highway 17, Before Roosevelt Ave ( now Blvd ) was built .
- From 1951 -1955 it was signed
, with a hidden State Road 211 . by 1957 it was just State Road 211 . this was all before the Roosevelt Spur was built .
- The Part from Post St to the Acosta Bridge was added in 1994
- Riverside Ave begins / Ends at St Johns Ave which is SR 211 & they go 19 blocks side by side before St Johns Ave ends into St Vincents Hospital . & 211 is forsed to moved up to Riverside Ave .
- King St , which for one block carries State Road 211 from St Johns Ave to Riverside Ave , was once the Jacksonville city limits in 1889 down the middle of the riverside area .
