State Road 114 has the giving name of 8th Street through out it's intire route which is just 21 blocks , in Downtown Jacksonville . it's a 4 Line highway for much of its route . It Start's at Haines Expy on , 8th Street heading west . Passing a number of Streets , just some side streets heading south into Downtown or into north Springfield . Before intersecting with N.Main St U.S. Highway 17 & Florida State Road 5 , then continuing past Shands Hospital , on the right of the road , then heading on west to intersect with Interstate 95 / Florida State Road 9. then after that State Road 114's Short trip comes to a end at the intersection of Myrtle Street & 8th Street , as 8th Street continues for 6 more Blocks as a side road before ending it's self .

- it's Very Short & pointless . & waste of a State Road .
- It is a Major Road for Jacksonville Jaguars Football games for getting to & from I-95 & Haines St Expy .
