Florian Knorn (born December 1981 in Berlin) is a German voice artist and actor.

Florian Knorn grew up in Eichwalde, a suburb of Berlin, Germany. He went to the bilingual high school Französisches Gymnasium Berlin (or Collège français) where he passed both the Abitur (German high school diploma) and the Baccalauréat (French high school diploma). In 1998/1999 he went on a student exchange year with the American Field Service (AFS) to Little River, near Christchurch, New Zealand. Due to his school and the stay in New Zealand, he speaks French and English more or less fluently.

At the Otto von Guericke University of Magdeburg he studied System Technologies and Engineering Cybernetics, pursuing the degree of Diplom Engineer and graduated at the end of September 2006. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. degree in part at the TU Berlin and in part at the NUI Maynooth.

His first academic thesis, a Studienarbeit, was titled Ranking and Importance in Complex Networks and written at the Hamilton Institute, NUI Maynooth, Ireland under the supervision of Prof. Robert Shorten and Dr. Oliver Mason. Files related to the thesis can be found on the accompanying page.

He then did an internship at DaimlerChrysler Research & Technology in Böblingen near Stuttgart, Germany, working in the Vehicle System Dynamics supervised by Prof. Jens Kalkkuhl on an Active Hydro-Pneumatic Suspension (AHP), (see his internship report Modelling and control of an active hydro pneumatic suspension).

He just finished working on deliberate passing behaviour in RoboCup Four Legged League soccer robots, as part of the NUbots team at the University of Newcastle, Australia. There, he wrote his Diplomarbeit with the title Algorithm Development and Testing for Four Legged League Robot Soccer Passing and has graduated with the title of "Diplom Ingenieur" from Magdeburg.

Currently, he has started his PhD which will be partly written at the Hamilton Institute, NUI Maynooth, Ireland and the Fachgebiet Regelungssysteme, TU Berlin, Germany, supervised by both Prof. Robert Shorten and Prof. Jörg Raisch. The topic will be related to control problems in Discrte Event Systems (DES) and High troughput screening (HTS) processes.
