Flightmare is a 1984 computer game by Peter Adams. It tells the story of the Omegans, who are at war with the Vandals. In the game, you play an Omegan pilot who is being ambushed by Vandal pilots, motorcyclists, and truck drivers.

The format of the game had two different modes. The first was in a very large scale view in which you would navigate your plane to target your next battle. Tiny icons represented the enemy planes, motorcycles, and trucks, as well as your plane and a blimp you could use for refueling. The second mode was a split-screen view including a side view and a top down view, with different controls to maneuver your plane on each view. It was in this mode that the actual battle took place, where you had to shoot down enemy planes without being shot down yourself, or you had to shoot motorcycles or truck tires without hitting the ground.

At the end of each round, you were granted extra planes based on your performance. Once all your planes were destroyed, you were given a rank which corresponded to a letter of the Greek Alphabet.
