Flight (opera)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A comedy-opera by Jonathon Dove (libretto by April De Angelis), sung in English, and premiered in 1998.

An opera set in an airport departure lounge which tells the story of passengers and staff stranded there because their flight is delayed. Their relationships are explored, and loosely "narrated" by the refugee, stuck in the airport without any money for a ticket home.

Music from Flight has been arranged into an orchestral "Airport Suite" for concert performances.
