Flicker is a novel by Theodore Roszak published in 1991.
The novel is about a film scholar who, upon studying the work of fictional B-movie director Max Castle, becomes convinced that Castle's films, through the usage of subliminal messages and symbolic imagery, portend the apocalypse. Out of print until 2005, the book is sometimes regarded as a cult classic. Director Darren Aronofsky is currently developing a film adaptation. [1]
