Flexiform Skysails manufactured hang gliders, famous for many landmark advances with models such as the Skyline, Polaris and Highlander to name but a few. The company was founded in the late 1970’s by the innovative Paul Maritos. Paul was unfortunately killed whilst testing a new glider near Castleton, Derbyshire, early 1980’s. Mike was joined in the mid 1980’s by Huey McGovern who developed the companies microlight business. Many Hang Glider pilots will remember Gerald Williams who worked for Flexiform Skysails for many years. The company was originally based in Patricroft, GMR and later, toward the end of the company life in the late 1980’s, Macclesfield, Cheshire.
