FLEA, or 3,4-methylenedioxy-alpha,N-dimethyl-N-hydroxyphenethylamine, is a lesser-known psychedelic drug and a substituted Amphetamine. It is the N-hydroxy homolog of MDMA (Ecstasy). FLEA was first synthesized by Alexander Shulgin. In his book PIHKAL (Phenethylamines I Have Known and Loved), the dosage range is listed as 100-160 mg, and the duration listed as 4-8. FLEA causes entactogenic, open MDMA-like effects and eases communication. It also increases appreciation of the senses. Very little data exists about the pharmacological properties, metabolism, and toxicity of FLEA.
