[edit] Latin Wikiquote (Vicicitatio)
Hello! I see you have tagged yourelf with a {{la-4}} template. Would you like to help us by translating into latin any of the official polices or help pages of Wikipedia? —Argentino (talk/cont.) 20:40, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

- Salve, Argentino! Normally, I would be delighted to do so, but I'm currently busy in real life and preoccupied writing several other wikipedia articles. However, if time permits, I may join the project in the distant future. -- Flask 01:30, 1 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Sidney Reilly
Rather impressive amount of additional info to Sidney Reilly - Skysmith 06:11, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
-
- Thank you, Skysmith. I own the Troy Kennedy-Martin Ace of Spies mini-series on DVD, as well as three or so books concerning Reilly; hence, I have a wealth of information to use. I still plan to write sections regarding the Lockhart Plot or the Blohm & Voss insider trading. -- Flask 01:30, 1 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Preview button
Hi Flask, I appreciate the work you're doing on the Age of Conan page, but would you be able to use the preview button when editing it so that all your changes are made within a few edits, rather than clulttering the page history with many small edits? Mako 01:42, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
-
- Hello Mako: I tend to use the Preview button maniacally, but the sheer amount of information I have been adding and tweaking to the Age of Conan article tends to negate that factor. However, I shall endeavor to compress my more trivial edits into my larger, less-frequent revisions. I apologize for my cluttering. -- Flask 14:58, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks :) I guess it also gets its "cluttered" look because you're the only one making edits, and the history page is only really useful when people start making contentious edits. It's a great article though, and that's more far important than the history page. Mako 01:56, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Aquilonia
You seem to be the most frequent contributor to articles relating to Conan the Barbarian. I have been trying to expand the Aquilonia (Conan) using references by both Howard and a number of the prominent pastiche writers. Could you review the article in its current state and offer some constractive criticism. User:Dimadick

- I believe it is a truly excellent article, albeit somewhat long. Hmm. Perhaps the addition of an image depicting Aquilonia's placement on the Hyborian continent would help the average reader? --Flask
[edit] Your comments on my talk page were a little sharp
Dear Flask: I saw your comments, and did the best I can to fix the prolem you spoke of. See my talk page for the discussion. I would like to ask you to not be so abrupt when speaking to people. Though I wouldn't call them incivil, your words did feel very sharp to me. Your message felt like a warning. It felt as though you were accusing me of making edits that didn't improve the articles in question, but rather harmed them. It even felt as though you were accusing me of doing so without regard to the quality of the article, perhpas intentionally. Naturally, this was not my intent. It never hurts to give someone the benefit of the doubt. Sometimes saying "Hey, do you see those formatting problems, what's with that?" is a lot nicer than "please revert your unproductive edits." Thanks. AubreyEllenShomo 02:59, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
- Thank you for reverting the alterations. I did not intend to be sharp in my message; however, I apologize if my message in your Talk Space was brusque or caused offense to you. On a side note, I did not view your changes as unproductive, but simply not conducive to improving the articles given the ensuing format problems. Lastly, I can assure you I did not believe you had any intent of harming the article. In the future, I will make an attempt to be less direct and more diplomatic in my messages. --Flask 21:19, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] re: Conan articles
I fixed the templates because someone substed them, which breaks the template and actually places the article in Category:Spoiler warning templates which they obviously are not. The spoiler template was meant to be used by placing {{spoiler}} in the article, not by using {{subst:spoiler}}. With regards to moving the template: some of the articles had it above the Plot heading, and some below. I was just standardizing them one way. The articles look fine to me, in both Firefox and IE, so I'm not sure what you're talking about. At any rate, if you don't like the design of the template, you should look at the code and make your own that does what you want. Mus Musculus 20:28, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
- Thank you. Your idea that I create a unique template to remedy the formatting problem is excellent and I cannot believe I had not thought of this before. I actually will act upon your suggestion and attempt to do just that. --Flask 21:21, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Reilly, Lockhart, and Nash
Ah, that's a perfectly reasonable solution to the problem. Good working with you, sir. DS 21:54, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Image:Conan9.gif
I've read the description of an image, so is it in PD now?--Vaya 12:49, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
- Technically, no. Although many of the Conan tales by Robert E. Howard are now arguably in the public domain in certain nations, I believe that image -- as a recent artistic work by a third party -- may only be utilized under Fair Use. On a related side note, there is a debate on this subject in the Talk:Bran Mak Morn#Ownership edits with an unknown user (69.182.106.50) threatening to report Wikipedia for trademark infringement due to the "public domain" claims, etc. --Flask 18:01, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
