Would a picture of a generic flag not be better than the Swiss? A GFDL image something like [1]? — Jeandré, 2005-11-26t12:45z

I had a similar misgiving when I saw it. I thought it looked like Template:Switzerland-stub or other Swiss-related stubs. On the other hand, I don't particularly like the proposed substitute. -- Mareklug talk 10:03, 26 March 2006 (UTC)
Then how about more than one flag? I've added a fairly readable icon with two. Seahen 18:48, 15 April 2006 (UTC)
Images in stub templates are optional and even discouraged (see WP:STUB). I think that is unsightly and that if we don't use we should use no image at all. — Elembis 22:54, 24 December 2006 (UTC)
Stub images aren't discouraged anymore. It is true that these images were discouraged last year when the image server was dying of overload. Since the installation of new image servers, WP:WSS only discourages controversial images, something which has always been the case. The great majority of new stub templates use images, at it has been like that for a long time. It looks like WP:WSS will have to go through this guideline again. It has also been way too long since last time. Regards. Valentinian (talk) / (contribs) 11:19, 26 December 2006 (UTC)
