Flattbush is a heavy metal band from Bellflower, CA, a suburb of Los Angeles. The band was formed in early 1993, consisting of Enrico Maniago, Eric Long, Dan Lopp, Brian Legaspi, Anthony Gonzales, Arman Maniago. Flattbush played in support of Melt Banana of Japan and toured Southern California extensively. Flattbush's drummer Anthony Gonzales resigned and was replaced by Ramon Banda, Jr. and in early 2000, Billy Gould signed the band onto his indie label, Koolarrow Records.

In 2002, guitarist Eric Long resigned from the group, and was replaced by guitarist Bradley Walther. After the recording was finished on Smash The Octopus, the debut album from Koolarrow Records and their first American support tour was complete, drummer Ramon Banda also resigned from Flattbush and was replaced by drummer Joe Luevano, then the band embarked on another United States tour.

[edit] Smash The Octopus

Smash The Octopus was Flattbush's debut release for Koolarrow Records, consisting of 13 tracks recorded and mixed in April 2003 in San Francisco by Billy Gould (ex-Faith No More) and engineered by Mark Pistel (Meat Beat Manifesto, Consolidated, Spearhead).

After releasing their first album Smash the Octopus in the Fall of 2003, Flattbush embarked on two U.S. tours including opening slots with Mike Patton and Rahzel, a west coast tour in 2004 with Fear Factory.[citation needed] Over the next two years, the band played with Asesino, Brujeria, and completed two successful American tours.[citation needed]

Flattbush's second album Seize The Time under the label Koolarrow Records and is set for release in September the 9th of 2006, also produced once again by Billy Gould, and consisting of 15 tracks. The band plans to tour the U.S. in 2007.

Flattbush openly espouse Maoism lyrically, on their website and in their liner notes and imagery.
