Flameshovel Records is a record label from Chicago, Illinois formed in the summer of 2001. Founded by Jesse Woghin and long time friend Noah Mewborn, the duo were later joined by James Kenler. Mewborn left for Philadelphia later that year to finish grad school but the remaining partners forged ahead.

The label has since put out 28 releases. Not least of which the recent Make Believe record which featured the newest ramblings of indie-avant hero Tim Kinsella. In the last year alone the label has seen it’s stock rise considerably garnering glowing praise with tastemakers Pitchfork with the release of The Narrator, Chin Up Chin Up's, and Bound Stems' debut full lengths.
