Flamenco Chill

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Flamenco Chill is a musical style derived from the fusion of electronic ambient music with the musical genre Flamenco. It was coined by Henrik Takkenberg as a reaction to "Flamenco Chillout" which he believed did not describe the essence of this new musical style and to differentiate it from chillout music in fashion with the beach culture in Ibiza, Spain, at the time. It was developed by the collaboration between Henrik Takkenberg, (the producer) and the group Chambao, on the beach in Pedregalejo, Málaga in the summer of 2001. It is first mentioned publicly when the double album "Flamenco Chill" was published in 2002 by Sony BMG Music, (Spain).
