Flagship Magazine
Flagship (ISSN 1743-6788), is an independent magazine for gamers. Flagship has an international readership. Published in the UK, it started in 1983 for PBM players. Since its hundredth issue in 2002, however, it has extended its coverage to include boardgames, roleplaying games, web games and massively multiplayer games, along with collectible cardgames and computer games.
The magazine comes out bimonthly, and has always aimed to present games from their players' point of view. There are game reviews and diaries, news columns and articles with advice and opinions about all aspects of gaming. There are also regular columns about boardgames, RPG and computer games.
Notably, FLAGSHIP has always published players' comments about the games they play, which are only edited for grammar and (rarely) libel avoidance. This 'Rumours from the Front' section shows something of the enthusiasm, interests and wit of games players.
Founded in 1983 by Nick Palmer and Chris Harvey, Flagship has been edited by Carol Mulholland since issue 70, with Colin Forbes as her Assistant Editor and Advertising Manager since issue 87.
