Fladrif

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Fladrif (Skinbark) is an Ent of Fangorn Forest in J. R. R. Tolkien's fictional work The Lord of the Rings. Skinbark was one of the first Ents in Middle-earth. By the end of the Third Age, only he, Leaflock, and Treebeard remained of the original Ents.

Skinbark lived on the mountain slopes west of Isengard. Saruman's orcs ravaged this area, cutting down trees and killing Ents. Skinbark himself was wounded by them. He retreated far up the mountain slopes to live among the birches that he favoured and refused to come down.
