- I was surprised to see this as well, but apparently, it is widely known. Google can't help me put my finger down on the exact dates, but it must have been somewhere between 1957 and 1961. The above stuff does appear at http://www.partizan.co.yu/predsednici.php?Jezik=sr but one can see that there are several functions there, not necessarily a single "president".
- In retrospect, this can't have been particularly surprising at the time, because it was an army club during the period when Yugoslavia was rather unified. Heck, Stjepan Bobek was also Croatian. --Joy [shallot] 14:19, 25 Feb 2005 (UTC)
didn't they appoint today a new manager? Jurgen Ruebber?
Its true Franjo was president of Partizan for many years, but not just a president he was part of the club for 30 years in different areas. This is common knowledge in Croatia and Serbia. The club was very pro yugoslav (no surprise) and as mentioned above had many Croatian players, many world class and Yugoslav interntationals such as Bobek but even bigger was Zlatko Cajkovski. Partizan didnt let Cajkovski join Barcelona robbing the player to really book his place among elite players of all time. However his despalys for Yugoslavia and Partizan still get him a mention in most soccer books. He was later a very good coach in Germnay too. Most Yugoslav clubs didnt allow players to go outside yugoslavia. Red Stat followed by Partizan Hajduk and Dinamo always got the best players from all over Yugoslavia....Parizan was always a top 4 club

[edit] Stevan Jovetic's citizenship

Shouldn't Jovetic be on the list of first team players, since he is playing in first team, despite his young age? Sideshow Bob 20:23, 28 December 2006 (UTC)
- Good question, I just added Ivan Radovanović and Stevan Jovetić as I found them on the team web page. // Laughing Man 20:47, 28 December 2006 (UTC)
- I've added Jovetic to the list a few months ago, but I can't keep repairing this page anymore, since there's so much vandalism here.--Vitriden 23:48, 28 December 2006 (UTC)
