Five Corners is the local name of an intersection of three streets in Jersey City, New Jersey, and of the community that surrounds it. The streets are Summit Avenue, Newark Avenue and Hoboken Avenue. It is home to the Five Corners branch library and many shops and restaurants to the west on Newark Avenue. Many of these stores serve the local Filipino American community, including one of the first Filipino Family owned Philippine-American groceries, Phil-Am Food Mart now known as Phil-Am Merchandising and Casa Victoria, serving the community for over 30 years. The neighborhood also contains to the William J. Brennan Courthouse, Hudson County Administration Building, and many county agencies and departments. It is only a few blocks away from Journal Square and The Heights.
