[edit] About me
Hi there, I'm a Hong Kong wikipedian. I've been an editor of Wikipedia since February 13, 2006. My Wiki ID is 957624.
I had thought I should take my pinyin name as the name here. But that seems too ordinary. So, I picked the given name of a gentleman who was the protagonist of a very famous novel. :)
I love Wikipedia. It is the very place where people can contribute and share knowledge. Without Wikipedia, I wouldn't have aspired to learn more about language and culture.

[edit] Language
How many languages are related to you?
Me:
- Through family relationship: Chinese (Cantonese, Teochew, Hakka), English (US, Aus), German, Vietnamese.
- Through education: English (HK variant of UK), Mandarin.
- Through pop culture: French, Japanese.
Thoughts about Chinese:
- I use traditional characters by default and don't oppose the simplified ones. However, ambiguous simplification should be reverted.
- Dialects, in the Chinese context, are dialects; in other contexts, languages. The desperate lack of studying materials for dialects can be fatal. I'm of Teochew and Cantonese descent, yet I'm zh-teochew-0.
Interest: Mainly speaking. I love rhotics very much. Many European languages would be very boring without those rhotics.
Learning: I'm very interested in language learning. It's fun because you can see the world in a different way by picking up a new language. Do you have any special language learning experiences? You may write it here.
