Hippy spin is a bowling delivery in cricket, patented by Calum Watson. When bowled, it can do four different things:

Have topsin, backspin, legspin or offpin on it.

Hippy spin has been questioned over its worth and its actual ability to be capable of these 4 types of spin on it. Hippy spin was once thought to be a slider, but these allegations were lifted and hippy spin now stands alone as a new type of spin. Criticism has also been raised over how long it takes to master. Like any new delivery, it can take between a few months to a few years to fully master. After all, Muttiah Muralitharan took 4 years to master his doosra!
