Fishhook cactus
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Fishhook cactus (any hook-spined species of the genus Mammillaria) are similar to barrel cactus. They grow in the Sonoran Desert on the U.S. - Mexico boarder. This cactus grows to 6 inches high. It is not to be confused with the Fishhook Barrel Cactus (Ferocactus wislizenii) of the Chihuahuan Desert. It is also inedible. The fishhook cactus is also found in the Mesa Verde National Park.
