From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Firedrake is the name given to an unlisted shortwave radio broadcast, which is identifiable by its music content and its simultaneous operation on frequencies used by Sound of Hope and Radio Free Asia.
A Firedrake broadcast features Chinese-style orchestra music, with loud percussion and prominent string or wind instruments.
International Amateur Radio Union Region 1 Monitoring System (IARUMS) Vice coordinator Uli Bihlmayer, DJ9KR, said "This offender is active day and night -- all day, every day -- and causing very harmful interference to the Amateur Radio Service," quoted by the Amateur Radio Relay League (ARRL). [1]
