The hits that Tanya Tucker amassed from her previous seven albums suddenly failed to materialize on Fire to Fire. The best that she could do was the Billboard Top Country Singles minor hits "Between the Two of Them" at #27, and "Find Out What's Happenin'" at #40. There is a nice duet with Willie Nelson in the title song, "Fire to Fire." Overall, it was Tucker's lowest-selling album since she came to Liberty/Capitol Records in 1986 on her comeback to stardom, peaking at #28 on the Country Albums chart.
