FireViewer

FireViewer, also known as Firepad Picture Viewer or Image Viewer III, is a Palm photo software program. It provides several basic functions.
- View photos up to 4,000 by 4,000 pixels on any Palm or Treo handheld.
- Pan and zoom large photos on the small PDA screen.
- View live video over a wireless connection.
- Create and view encapsulated multimedia presentations for any Palm, using only standard HTML editing tools.
Thus far, FireViewer has achieved the following distinctions:
- First photo software for a PDA
- First wireless video software for a PDA
- #1 Palm picture software download from 1997 to 2003
- Granted U.S. Patent #6,968,012
- First photo software to be Certified PalmPowered (2001)

FireViewer started as Image Viewer III was the first photo viewer for the PalmPilot. Art Dahm wrote it in 1997 as a personal project with two goals: first, to learn 68000 assembly language, and second, to store and view photos of his dog Harley on his new PalmPilot.
Image Viewer III remained a top-5 download on PalmGear (the largest Palm download site) from 1997 through 2003.
In December 1999, Image Viewer III was sold to Firepad and renamed FireViewer.
