Fire-Eater

"The Fire-Eater" is the 150th episode of the anime, Dragon Ball. The Japanese uncut version is called "The Phantom Fire-Eating Bird". This episode occurs during the Piccolo Junior Saga and first aired March 22, 1989 in Japan. This episode covers Chi-Chi and Goku's quest for the fire-eater.

The episode starts with Goku and Chi-Chi making it to the Kame House. Once there they asked Master Roshi's Turtle where everyone was. Turtle told them they haven't got back from the World Martial Arts Tournament. Goku told him about the Bancho Fan and the book Baba told them about. Turtle said it was probably in Master Roshi's archives. Eventually they find it and the book says to go to Mt. Kiwi and get a feather from a fire-eater so Goku and Chi-Chi set out for Mt. Kiwi. Once there, they go inside the mountain and a monster attacks them but Goku calms him down by petting him. We now learn that Pilaf, Shū, and Mai are also after the fire-eater. While walking across a narrow ledge Chi-Chi falls off and discovers an egg. Goku jumps down to check it out and an old scientist tells them to get away from the egg. The man tells them that the egg is the last piece of the fire-eater race and that it hasn't hatched in 40 years. Then all of a sudden, Pilaf, Shū, and Mai arrived in a drill vehicle. they tricked Chi-Chi and held her captive but Chi-Chi easily took care of Shū and Mai while Goku took care of their vehicle and caused Pilaf, Shū, and Mai to run away. Then the mountain started to shake and a fire-eater came crashing through a wall breaking the egg of its baby and flying away from the collapsing mountain. Goku used a Kamehameha to make a hole in the mountain so he, Chi-Chi, and the scientist could escape. Once out the fire-eater dropped feathers by them but they dissolved right when they got close to the ground. The scientist explained that they were on a wild goose chase but he did know where the fan was. He told Goku and Chi-Chi that it was frozen in a glacier somewhere in the North but Pilaf, Shū, and Mai also heard this. Goku and Chi-Chi flew away on the Flying Nimbus thus ending the episode.
