I just noticed that "Gil-galad was his son" was removed. Is there a citation for this (or some reason)? I just want to make sure that this was not removed maliciously. -- Ram-Man

Geez, can't leave to go to dinner without some anon mangling the content... :-) Possibly my phrasing was ambiguous, but the relationship is clearly stated in Silmarillion p. 154 (1st Amer. ed.), index, etc. Stan 04:44 18 Jun 2003 (UTC)

While there may be no canonical confirmation that Orodreth was his father, Gil-galad cannot be Fingon's son, it was a blatant and admitted error of Christopher's when putting the Silmarillion into the short form that you have read. Never wonder why little brother and hideaway Turgon inherited the High Kingship not Gil-galad on Fingon's death? Rob England 09-06
